MilkMatters Lactation Consultant

  • Autonomy with support! You will do consults independently, but our team is available to collaborate when you want to bounce something off another LC.

  • Make your own schedule! You’ll set your own availability in our scheduling software with any mix of daytime, evening and weekend appointments that works for you.

  • Give great care! With 2-hour consults, you’ll have time for a comprehensive assessment and effective education without feeling rushed.

  • We take care of the rest! MilkMatters provides you with charting software, scheduling, payment processing, credentialing, insurance claim management, client education resources, advertising, and all the other running-a-business logistics so you can focus on the work you really want to do.

  • Fair pay and perks! Earn a flat rate commission on consults and get reimbursed for mileage, tolls and parking. We’ll also cover the cost of professional organization memberships.

 
 
 

Requirements

  • Current RN, licensed in NY

  • Current IBCLC

  • Eligible to work in NYS

  • Vaccinated against COVID-19

 

Characteristics of an excellent candidate

  • Able to commit to 10 appointment slots per month (about 40-50 hours total per month)

  • 1+ years of experience providing lactation support

  • Open to learning and receptive to feedback

  • Committed to serving all individuals and families without judgement. Willing to actively work to reduce bias. Eager to participate in training and practices to help all our clients feel welcome and supported.

 
 

What if I’m not an RN? We recognize and embrace that excellent lactation support can come from providers with a variety of backgrounds. Our legal business structure requires that our providers be RNs licensed in New York State.
